Wondering if your accounting firm should be on social media?

If you’re reading this post, you're likely questioning whether or not your firm should be on social media, and if so, what social media platform you should be on?

With the world of social media changing so often, it can feel overwhelming and confusing trying to figure out where to start!

Let me simplify the social media insanity or you.

There is only one platform that I would recommend that you and your firm NEED to have a presence on.

It's LinkedIn. That’s it.

Why LinkedIn you ask?

LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the world, with over 660 million members worldwide. And LinkedIn is the most important social media platform for accountants, with over 60% of accounting professionals using LinkedIn.

If we think of all of the social media platforms as rooms in your house, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok are like your living room or family room.

LinkedIn is your home office.

When users log into LinkedIn, they're in a business mindset and are more receptive to interacting with content that has to do with their business or their work.

If you're not on LinkedIn, you're missing out on a huge opportunity to connect with potential clients and grow your business.

What makes it the perfect platform for your firm is that it allows you to showcase your expertise by posting content that offers advice and shares your knowledge with your audience. This allows you to build your personal brand and your firm's brand. Not to mention, LinkedIn allows you to connect with business owners, fellow CPAs, and other professionals in your area.

LinkedIn is also a great way to connect with referral partners, like financial planners and bankers.

By creating connections and building relationships on LinkedIn, you'll be able to grow your business and get in front of your ideal clients.

What is the Best Way to Use LinkedIn?

If you're ready to start using LinkedIn to market your firm, but don't know where to start, I recorded a video where I share the simplest and easiest way to create content for your firm's social media accounts. You can check that out by clicking the link here!

I also share some social media planning tips and tools in the Ultimate CPA Marketing Playbook. You can download the playbook by visiting marketmycpafirm.com for FREE right now, so be sure to check that out!

It allows you to showcase your expertise by posting content that shares advice and knowledge with your audience which in turn helps you build your personal brand and your firm's brand.

If you don't already have an account on LinkedIn for yourself, and a company page for your firm, set one up right now. If you already have an account and a company page for your firm it's time to actually start posting valuable content for your clients, followers, and connections.

I know I said that LinkedIn is the only platform that you need to be on, and I do believe that it is the one that you NEED to be on, and the one you need to be most active on as well, posting content consistently on that platform is probably the most important. However, being on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter - being on more social media platform - is not a bad thing, and it actually helps with SEO rankings and discoverability.

Wrap Up

LinkedIn is also a great way to connect with referral partners, like financial planners and bankers, possible employees, and clients.

By creating connections and building relationships on LinkedIn, you'll be able to grow your business and get in front of your ideal clients.
